Space Shuttle Enterprise

On Friday, the Space Shuttle Enterprise was ferried from Washington, D.C. to New York. We couldn't miss the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and managed to watch it being flown down the Hudson River. The Enterprise may have never flown in space, but it was still a sight to behold.

The Enterprise is going to be on exhibit at the Intrepid, the aircraft carrier moored on the Hudson River serving as New York's Sea, Air and Space Museum, but the custom 747 aircraft modified for ferrying the space shuttles will no longer be in service: it really was one of the last opportunities to see such a sight.

More photos are on our family website, not to mention my Google+ stream (including video).
